Help me.... I am being over run by them. I only have a 10 gal tank and need to seperate male and females as well as give some up.

You can tell the genders apart on the adults by looking at thier anal fins - the males is long, thin, and pointed, the females' is fan-shaped. See examples in the photos of these platys" http://www.drta-archiv.de/Fische/Zahnkarpfen/Platys/images/platys.jpg

You'll need to wait a while before you can determine the fry.

One bit of bad news - the females can store sperm, and can continue to give birth to live youns for up to 6 months (on average, once every 28 days).

Guppies are Live Bearers as are Mollies & Swordtails.

First of all, dont buy alot of guppies, just get two, and why did you ask this question twice? To get in the system to other catogories so more people can grab attention?( and anyways, its pretty nice.)


And since you cant control all of your fish, just keep 4(2female 2 male) or 2(1female 1male)

sounds like you have good supply of feeder fish.....now you just need to find someone who needs them....maybe your local pet store will take some off of your hands....
