I'm a straight (gee, I hate that term) female and I'm not attracted to manly men, just transvestites and extremely femme/androgynous guys.
( yeah I KNOW! =P )
It seems like they're mostly into other men, are most of them hetero? not bi, but completely staight.

I'm a male and a transvestite and I love females, I especially love females that let me dress-up in their clothes and I really love the girls that want to dress me up like a girl too.

Okay, "transvestite" literally means cross-dresser, so it doesn't really have much to do with their sexual preference. You could very likely find a biological male who is feminine and enjoys cross-dressing, but has no interest in other men.

The whole topic is a lot more complicated than most people realize... the trans-gender spectrum is very complex.

Here's the basics of what I know.

1. people all have a gender assigned at birth (typically based on the appearance of genitalia): either male or female. I am not sure how they classify hermaphrodites.

2. people all have a gender identity, that is, they identify themselves as fitting a gender category: masculine, feminine, or androgynous

3. People all have a sexual identity: homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, and pan-sexual (there are probably others that I am overlooking.

The biggest reason that you may be thinking that most transvestites are gay is because of society. Straight men are often so afraid that they will discover that they are gay that they will not explore themselves. Society makes it appear that men may only be masculine if they are straight, all the feminine ones are gay, and all cross-dressers are feminine. Society says that you must be male or female, masculine or feminine, straight or gay (even bisexuals are often seen as just experimenting and really are either hetero or homo).

Those guys are out there, you just have to find them. My only concern is that it sort of sounds like you're hunting for guys in notoriously homosexual social circles. You may want to see who's checking out mint green bedspreads at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, instead. I married a guy who's androgynous, and more feminine than me at times, but we both enjoy lavendar bubble baths together... and that's what's important, isn't it? finding someone that gets you on a level that no one else can...

Most transvestites (no plans on completely changing) are hetero. Transsexuals (planning on becoming women) tend to like men more. I fall into the second category.

P.S. CalPal, you are completely wrong. We respect women so much that we want to get rid of our masculinity. We idolize and revere women.

Most transvestites are straight (In fact, the majority of transvestites are happliy married).; they enjoy dressing as women, but they're not sexually interested in men.

Transvestism is a hobby, not a sexual orientation.

(For 'ibn0721'; transvestites aren't 'changed into' anything; you're confusing transvestism, a hobby, with transsexualism, a medical condition - and you're wrong about that too; it's not about sexual orientation)

First off, for all those who are going to complain bitterly, I know generalizations are not absolutes, but if you like "extremely femme" guys, your chances are quite good that they are "into guys" no matter what they say, or how they might experiment occasionally. So, if you want a one night stand, or a bed buddy sometimes, then go for it; otherwise, you will probably be #2, or #22, or #222 in line for his affections.
Rather than really being hurt, if I were you, I'd talk with a professional and try to understand where my own desires might be coming from. It couldn't hurt to understand yourself better, and might save you some real, real pain.

Over 90% of transvestites are heterosexual, so as a general rule, yes transvestites do like girls.

The people who have worked in this field all seem to agree that most transvestites are heterosexual.

Gender identification and sexual orientation are two completely different things. You can be a tranny and be gay or straight (depending on what you consider yourself).
