He was born in 1957 so he turned 13 in 1970. That may be the era you want to start selecting music unless he had older siblings that played music he can relate to.
In 1970 the Beatles had disbanded. Led Zeppelin was emerging, Credence was at it's peak and soon came the Eagles, Traffic, Santana, Chicago. The Who and the Stones were still putting out hits. The Viet Nam war was a hot topic. Campus protest were happening and the Civil Rights movement was in full swing.
Check out Billboard and find songs from when he was 16, 18 etc. See if you can find the name of the first album he owned.
Ask your Mom about songs of that era. May be there is a special song that reminds him of the time when they met.
Use a lot of thought and you should get a list unique to special times in his life(like the year you were born)
Have fun!!

Through the Years by Kenny Rogers. I saw it once in a slide show of someone I knew and it was beautiful.

If you know what kind of music he likes include those tunes in the slide show.

My aunt is about that age and she is a diehard Kiss fan, which surprised me.

I hope he wasn't a disco fan.
