Maybe not everyone can become God's kitty like you... and they can't get any cuter or purrrfect even though if they ever tried to clone you because you're 'one and only' God's kitty :-)

The Bill of Rights is an excellent thing, but it's trying to get the government to obey it that's the problem. I appreciate what I have, I just wish they wouldn't keep taking it away. How can you really support Bush if you love the government and our freedoms? He took away our freedoms with that damned Patriot Act, and he's killing the schools with the No Child Left Behind Act.
For once I'd like a president that could live by his vows and actually defend the Constitution, rather than ignore it. Is that REALLY too much to ask?

We are the government. With the freedom of the internet, that is more true than ever.
There are people who WANT us to hate our government, to turn against it and each other. They are mistaken in their belief that that will work. I encourage your teacher to share the video he showed you, OUTSIDE of work. He has free speech, he has the right. I still find sedition contemptible.
You'll also be pleasantly surprised to find out how few people actually hate their government by watching the next election. The most seditious candidates will start falling away, the most patriotic ones on both sides will move to the front. Look at who won last time! When did you ever hear President Bush insulting another representative, spreading false rumors about them, or treating them as 'guilty until proved innocent'? He has my (a democrat) added respect for that, above and beyond my respect for being our President.
The seditious are very vocal. They are NOT the majority, and never will be, not unless we vote for them.

I think some people hate it because they have all these laws meant to 'protect' you. But then those laws are used against you in most manners.
Then people who are hard working, law abiding people are constantly being targeted, pulled over, etc. But you see two blocks away, someone weaving in and out of the road and passing every car and getting away with it.
My husband actually got a ticket for going straight out of an alley where the sign says 'no left turn.' Did not say 'no going straight.' So every day we now go left and swing back around..and every day, I see a car or truck turning left or going straight on that same alleyway.

Most of the people who complain about how bad it is in America have never lived anywhere else and therefore have nothing to compare it to. We should criticize the government when it needs it and keep a constant eye on it to keep it open and honest. Some people are just spoiled and like to complain, though. We have the option to contact our leaders through email, snail mail, and telephone, which is another bonus to living in America. America is the best country in the world, and those who think it is terrible have the option to constructively better it or leave it. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

I love what the government does here in Australia. People whinge about them all the time but without them we wouldn't have free medical treatment, money to live off if you lose your job, freedom of speech.
The list is endless. Thank you to the government.
Don't listen to EXPOSING LIBERALS, these things do come from a well run government and not God.
Not every country with a huge belief God has freedom!!!!!

For many, it's not a matter of hate, it''s a matter of distrust. It's a good idea to have a certain amount of healthy distrust when it comes to dealing with the government. People in government aren't perfect, and they do make mistakes.

You'll find righties hate the Government most when their boys are not in power. Many of the people that have posted before me are probably righties, and for decades they've made 'hate the government' the center of their spiel... But when they indicate they hate government, they probably don't count their little dictator and his squad... they only mean democrats.
Most free thinking people, left and right, distrust government. Reasonable enough; the constitution admonishes us that we must be vigilant... But the right seems to think ALL democrats love government. I'm a dem/independent; I don't hate government, but I don't expect it to do anything at this point for me except spy on me and mispend my tax dollar.
But I REALLY don't trust government when it runs on the anti-government ticket, because then I know the shaft is being applied with lubricant.

I think you need to separate the hate from "exercising a right". The poeple who call on bush or any other political figure to do something is a right you have...that was fought for. Not to be given up.
When someone attacks america, and your government asks you to give up a little fredom for security...you do not give it up...
Fight for your rights, thats what americans are doing on both sides of what you see. I do not hate my government...I love my government. It allows me to question my leaders, and speak freely about it. You are right, not many other countries allow that(although very few do because of america!). We should exercise our rights constantly and proudly...I don't think people want too much either...when you get older and if you still have a "thirst" for knowlege in politics...hopefully you will understand...
belive me though...no one on here hates there government...they may not like a political leader...but everyone on this board loves there government, which is why they are so passionate about what they talk about...

You need to step outside your world. What other countries have this? COME ON!
Look up...Canada, England, think also MANY countries in Europe who are not afraid to have a person of colour or a woman president.

If we were never allowed to criticize the government then we would still have slavery in this country.
Don't mix up care of our government for hating it. If we hated the government then we would let it rot and die a slow death instead of adapting and improving continuously.
