i have a project and i have to choose a career that i'm interested in.
I chose optometrist. and
i need to know about the potential for advancement (promotion) of optometrist
and the potential for relocation (is it voluntary or non-voluntary)

You're at a university, and you don't know how to research this, other than by posting here? And you're supposed to choose a career you're interested in, but you've picked one that you don't know those essentials about?

You don't sound as if you're ready for college. Talk to your professor about getting some background work, tutoring, whatever, so that you can do the classwork you're expected to do.
