When I read Dumbledore's death in Book 6 it took a few long moments to sink in. Once it did, I burst into tears [and I wasn't a teenager, either :-)] and cried solid for several minutes! I had to read the rest of the book twice because it was all a fog. It was 4:00 AM at the time, so I had no one to talk to, but I felt like running to my flatmates and screaming "Wake up! Dumbledore is dead! How can you sleep?"

I'm petrified to find out if Harry dies!

I'm afraid he might have to sacrifice himself in order to kill Voldemort.

I know I'm going to read straight through without stopping to find out what happens though!

I hear some places are setting up - get this - counseling for kids in case Harry dies. As ridiculous as that sounds, it's quite understandable to me...

Will you cry if Harry dies?

Probably. I am a very emotional person and cry when sad things happen. I will be very upset if Harry dies. We have been with him for seven years and it is almost like he exist. He lost his parents, has aholes for an aunt, uncle, and cousin, he has lost his godfather, and his beloved headmaster Dumbledore, has fought against the man who killed his parents and tried to kill him. He deserves a happy ending.

I'll be very upset if Harry dies, especially as he's the main character. JK Rowling's got enough power in her writing to make her readers cry even if Wormtail dies, and then if she does plan on killing Harry, she's going to make sure we never forget the dying scene, so naturally I will cry, but not half as much as I cried when Sirius (my favourite character) died. His death brought a lump to my throat even when I was re-reading the book for the fourth time. And I'll be almost as upset if Lupin dies.
I didn't cry when Cedric and Dumbledore died, though.

I would definitely cry! When I read order of the phoenix, I was up till about 3 reading it and when Sirius died I totally bawled, and my mom heard me and asked me half alseep who had died haha. Then when Dumbledore died, I saw the spoilers and didn't believe it, then read it and cried again, then I went into denial believing that he hadnt died, then I found out that JK rowling said he was for sure dead.

If Harry dies I will make up a new ending in my mind :D but then again, I don't think he will die

For anyone who answered yes, I recommend the counseling NOW and not after you read the book. Generally the way a series ends is with the lead character dying. That is kind of the definition of "the end". For the series to end, Harry will die. What will kids do? Have a Harry Potter book party one day and a Harry Potter funeral the next day? Get your black robes cleaned, kiddo. I feel a funeral coming on. Pax - C

Probably. I know it's all fictional, but I still love these books. I will cry for the mere fact that the books are over if nothing else. It's odd, because I don't cry for anything like movies, books, etc., but I do for good ol' Harry Potter.

Now I'm gonna cry! I had an answer for you, but somehow I erased it prior to posting.

If Harry dies, yes, I'm sure I'll be teary-eyed and will need a kleenex. Any of the good guys and I'll be that way. IF he dies, it might be the WAY he dies. If it's sudden, it will be worse - if it's building up and we know, I'll hate it, but will plow through.

I will cry if Harry has to die.

I do not, however, think that he'll have to die b/c he's the last Horcrux... and he wouldn't have to to die to kill Voldemort because that would make the prophesy untrue.

I cried and cried when Dumboldore was murdered by snape... I wonder if that'll turn out ok in the end.

I might just end my life if he dies.....

Yeah right.

I think you need serious help. It is just a book. He is a fictional character and does not exist so crying over his death simply means you have mental problems. I think you should really look into seeing someone about this, especially due to the fact that you are an adult.

Those who set up counseling for kids in case HP dies are just out to suck the $$$ out of these kids whose parents are filthy rich. It is insane. Harry Potter books should be burned for having that much affect on people.
