In their website, the FDA clearly states do not order drugs from Canada because the drugs are not made in Canada but instead made in other foreign countries. Why does the FDA allow U.S. chain pharmacies to order their drugs from the same foreign countries?

Good question! For one the FDA wants you to buy the drugs that they purchase from overseas manufacturers. They are so much cheaper and the federal government help make drug companies huge profits. Then they sell them to chain store pharmacies who in turn make their profit. It is "big business" and a shame that people have to pay outrageous prices for medicine.

Because American Pharmacies donate to the Republicans.
Republicans are in favor of free market unless it keeps their donors from making a bunch of money.
Allowing us to fill prescriptions in other countries would drive down the price of pharmaceuticals through free market competition.

Chain pharmacies are not allowed to import medications. Chaim pharmacies buy their medications from wholesalers. The only group which can import is the pharmaceutical manufacturors themselves.
