I'm 13 years old.I want to become a model more than anything. I was wonder:

1. How do I ask my mom about it?
2. How do I insure that the agent I find is safe?
3. Where do I find an agent?

1. Tell your mom exactly what you just said. You want to do this. If she has the time & resources & thinks it would be good for you, she might look into it.

2. Don't consider 'modeling schools' or 'modeling classes.' You can even quote Tyra Banks on that - these are scams.

3. Any agency that wants $$$ up front is a rip-off. This means you might not find something in your city, depending on where you live. A real modeling agency will invest in you, your pictures, and whatever it takes to get you started.
Sometimes part of these costs will then come out of your earnings, but you shouldn't have to pay for things up front.

Good luck!

Ask your mom's advice about modeling. If people have suggested you have the talent and looks to model pass that along. If your mom says no, respect her wishes.

The best way to find a reputable and safe agent is to find someone who is actively modeling (and I assume you mean fashion modeling) and ask for a recommendation. If you live in a larger city there probably are model agencies and active models.

Agencies are usually listed in the Yellow Pages. I would shop around for a good one. Have your mom help you with this--if she is involved she is more likely to approve your efforts. You can also contact local advertising agencies or graphic arts companies.

You can model at 13. Clothing advertising is one of several potential avenues for modeling, and they have need of children down to infants to model.

You sound like you are aware of the pitfalls in modeling and that will help you a lot. Always look for more than one agent or modeling customer.

1. Just say straight up, mom I want to be a model. If your mom truely loves you, she'll support you in it. Assure her that this isn't just some stupid fad that you'll grow out of.

2. Do background checks on him and find out what some of his other models are doing, and if they're getting work.

3. Look in your phonebook, or search it on yahoo or google. Just type in "modeling agent (wherever you live here)" and it should come up.

But I must warn you, do not fall for the tricks of agents getting you into revealing clothes and lengerie, convincing you it will help you. It wont, if anything it will hurt your credibility. It's isn't modeling, it's child erotica. Don't fall for it.
Hope all turns out okay. Remember me when your doing catwalks in Milan hanging with Kate Moss!
