Tarantulas aren't even Australian Natives.
I am a long time resident of this wide brown land (46 years) and I have never been bitten by either a snake or a spider. And we go bush camping every year. I've seen a few in my time, but live by the motto, leave the dangerous creatures alone, and generally they leave you alone.
So come out and visit, we're a friendly people, and we will make you welcome.

there are no native tarantulas in australia and i believe they don't even bite humans.
it's true there are many dangerous spiders and snakes in australia. I grew up there, and never got bitten. If you're staying in the city, you probably won't see any animals besides pigeons.
Australia is a really great place to visit, don't be scared.
