I love Stephen Kings stories, and I like the Green Mile But I vote for the Shawshank Redemption as a movie.

I found the Green Mile long, and a little dull. But I really enjoyed the story of the Shawshank Redemption, and the film is a quite enjoyable adaptation in its own right. So I'd certainly go for Shawshank.

I will admit that the Transformers movies can be very entertaining if you want to turn your brain off and just enjoy an action packed movie. That said, they have some major issues. The screenplay, stories, and acting are a complete mess, and they are both very bloated and too long. Especially the second. I feel that they could be much better movies if they had a different director. Personally I find that Michael Bay's shots cut away too fast for you to fully understand everything that is happening in an action scene, and he always films action from the ground looking up, which doesn't allow us to fully appreciate the amount of detail that went into the special effects. There is nothing wrong with liking these types of movies though. To each their own. I tend to be a bit more snobbish than the average movie goer. Most people don't give a crap about where the camera is placed. Personally I like a little more substance with my movies, but I can't blame somebody who just wants sweet special effects :)

Green Mile: if you are in the mood for some major tear-flow. Michael Clarke Duncan's heart-breaking performance will make you bawl your heart out.
Pick Shawshank Redemption for excellent turns from Tim Robbins & Morgan Freeman. Has a good twist to it too.
