The singer is Jesse Malin. I heard a song by him, Broken Radio, that features Bruce Springsteen doing backup vocals. Hope this helps.

Yes, I have won things in radio contests a handful of times. My last name is almost always mangled. One time, after donating to the United Way, I was allowed to co-host a local radio show for 2 hours. Basically, I just got to pick the songs and engage in some slightly awkward banter with the dj, Tracy.
