14 days after my last period I felt some light cramping and had some CM discharge which I believed to be due to ovulation. That was June 10-13th or so. The cramping went away after the 13th or there abouts, but suddenly, 2 days later (the 15th until now) its back and much much stronger, I had to take Advil to relieve the discomfort, I have had some CM now, and I took an ovulation test and it was positive..so now I know I am ovulating..but this means I'm ovulating late..and I really thought around the 10-13th that I felt myself ovulating and then it was also my correct time for ovulation, not now... so can you ovulate for a very long period of time, over a week? Or can it happen twice in a month? Recently I've had irregular periods, but my last 2 in a row were back to normal...not sure if that plays a role....

thanks

You only ovulate once per month and that is apparently right now. The period always comes 14 days after ovulation so if your next period starts in 14 days you will know the answer. If your periods have been irregular then it has just been taking your body a little longer to ovulate which is fine. I would only worry about this if your periods get to a 45 day cycle.

It does sound like you may have ovulated a second time, but EWCM is not a sure sign that you are ovulating, nor is a positive ovulation test (you can have a LH surge which means that your ovary is TRYING to drop an egg, not that it definitely will. This happens even more with fertility drugs, as they boost your hormones, in turn boosting your LH), but yes it is definitely possible to ovulate twice in one cycle. There was a woman on the news recently who got pregnant twice in one cycle, and is carrying both fetuses, who were conceived about 2-3 weeks apart. You can actually get EWCM as a pregnancy symptom. Many women get increased CM in early pregnancy, as this is when you form the mucus plug. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Absolutely YES! Remember, there are 13 full moons in a year, every 28 days, so on at least one month, there will usually be two periods. I personally work a desk job w/ lots of other women around for 6 months of the year (Sept or Oct thru April). When women are around each other, their periods will entrain (ie they'll all go towards being on the rag simultaneously...look out men!) and so in my experience, whenever I'm back at work, I can easily have two periods in a month b/c my body is trying to harmonize with all the other women's bodies. The other 6 months of the year, I'm usually at home and so you could say I've both noticed and heavily verified this effect. It's a true thing. Ovulating longer than 5 days is highly unusual, but as with all of nature and all of human beings--NOTHING is impossible. Hope that helps.

I've never heard of ovulating twice, but I suppose anything is possible. You might want to check with your gynecologist. Sometimes an ovarian cyst can feel like ovulation pain. Or you could have a spasm in the bowel, or just a simple gas pain. I'd get it checked just to make sure.
