After my first rejection.
But hey! Life goes on. Looking back, there is not even one empty spot left. Where a flower has whithered, there is always a new one that sprouts and grows with new life.
Lesson learned
from life
Never have all you want.
Once all your wants become complete,
then all your dreams die.
Be well always.
Made first page again within the first 20 minutes question was asked. Wow I must be getting better.....
Or lucky... :-)

Unfulfilled wants are both the curse and blessing of life on Earth.
I was about 20 when I realized I can't have everything. I was about 30 when I realized I don't want to have everything.

As a twelve-year old, I read the book "Essays in Zen Buddhism" by D. T. Suzuki [YES, I realize that was quite a nerdy thing to do for a 12-year old - lol] and decided to take an advanced course on Buddhism at a local temple. So one fine summer day I walked in, took a tour of the place, introduced myself to the "monk-on-call", and asked how I could sign up for the course. He took one look at me (with a funny grin on his face) and handed me a sheet of paper with a LONG list of prerequisites for registration - none of which, including the $60 or so registration fee and the minimum age requirement of 24, I could possibly come up with at the time. … Right there and then, I learned one of the greatest lessons of my life: You may “Crave”, you may even “Brave”, but you cannot “always” pass a twelve for a “Thrave” [even if you put all your mind & heart into it….]. :-)

Once when I was 6 years old I walked into my mother's room...I didn't find her. And I haven't found her since...even after putting all my mind and heart into looking for her. But still...that wasn't when I realized that I couldn't have everything I wanted because I still believed/believe that I will find her.
When I realzied was because of 57 year old man that has cereberal palsy and is paralyzed.
He is my neighbour...and is going to die soon...2 months at least.
I try to make his days full of happiness but I want him to live so much. I just want him to bretahe one more day.
I've realized that I can't really have everything I want.......not that I want anything...except for the happiness of others...and that everything to me.
So, I can not have everything I want....
But....................................
MAYBE SOME DAY....
BECAUSE I WILL NEVER GIVE UP HOPE.

Interesting question since some of us were adults before we realized that we could have a few of the things we wanted out of life.

At the age of 2. When my mother said "NO", she meant it and asking twice would have ended up with my getting a spanking. Hahahahaha.
I wasn't abused though. It's just that if I wanted another cookie and my mother said "no"....Leave it alone. Lol.
Yes. I learned at an early age.

the desire has no end.
nobody on the earth has EVERYTHING he WANTED.
your mind and heart may wanted to climb to the distant mountain OR may WANTED to fly in the sky.
the capacity of the mind is tremendous. it is faster that what you can imagine!
try your best and don't claim.
be happy with what you have and put all your efforts to keep yourself happy.

From the very first time when someone said no to me; and that was when I was a toddler! :-)
You can't have everything from others but if you want something from yourself, then I don't think there is anyone there to stop you except yourself. After all we are our own worst enemy! :-)
Thank you

One day I asked my father for some money. He told me to hold out both my hands, palms up in front of him. He pointed to one hand, the right hand, and said, "imagine the money you want in this hand", then he pointed to the left hand and said "imagine this hand is filled with crap." Then he asserted with great delight and a smirk on his face. "Now which hand do you think will get filled the quickest." End of illusion.
