Movie Fans and Buffs, great movies!?

Question

Here is probably my top five, please tell me your favourite of them.

-Life is Beautiful (Vita e bella)

Not my top five, but, as to your list, I'd have to choose The Lord of the Rings of the ones I've seen (I haven't yet seen The Bicycle Thief or Life is Beautiful--sorry 'bout that)--
Peter Jackson's trilogy is an epic in every sense of the word--an enthralling adaptation of Tolkien's masterpiece, nearly page by page in some instances, with skillfull editing where required, staying true to the spirit of the story and its characters while maintaining the vividnes that film requires.
Very few motion pictures have approached its length, it's supurb visual style, its excitement or ability to move an audience.
Despite its fantastic elements, the story of the difference that one individual can make, the power of love and friendship, the sadness of the passing of beauty and the strength in the unity of disparate lives in fellowship against evil is universal to human experience. This is one that will last.

Watched James Bond the different night ... it wasn't that. no longer a lot help (that grew to become into the 1st movie i've got controlled to view for years) Ah properly ... shall watch your solutions with interest.
