not sure, but
my kid was told from very young age that the ice-cream truck play music when they run out of ice cream.

There's this weird freaking ice cream truck that comes around where my parents live that makes animal noises, like a dog barking, a duck quacking, and I think there's a woman's voice in the recording that says something creepy, but I can't think of what she says....My mom says it reminds her of the thing in the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang that kidnaps the children or something like that, I haven't seen the movie in a while...
Update:
I remember how it goes: "bark bark quack quack, meow" then the creepy female's voice goes, "hello." Dude, it's real creepy.....

The truck in our neighborhood has been playing Christmas Carols. I heard "O Christmas Tree" and "Away in a Manger" Friday evening. I swear to you I did!

Greensleeves - Mr whippy is what he's called. He has crappy watered down yuck.
But the home ice cream man, - he actually has GOOD ice cream. His is just a bell that goes DING DING..........DING DING.
I'm from Australia - Our regular tune is greensleeves. I can't believe yours plays pop goes the weasel, I feel like i've been jibbed.

there's a new local ice cream truck yesterday in my neighborhood and I couldn't stop laughing because they played the "manha manha" song from the muppet show lol I thought they sell the muppets =D
