I've read about the concept of an asteroid or meteor slamming into one planet. The force of the impact causes planetary debris to be launched into outer space...and then that debris falls into another planet as a meteorite. I know that there is the theory of how a piece of Mars came to Earth in a famous meteorite. Is there an offical term for this process?

I don't think there is an official term, but "Interplanetary mass ejection and insertion" would be a good title.
