Prairie Creek Redwood State Park in northern CA is pretty awesome for camping. You camp in a meadow but can hike thru redwood forests, a stream area, or go to the beach...all in one state park. Be careful if you go in Sept though as that's the rutting season and the native male elks get really aggressive.

First off, I think any native Oregonian would tell you to skip the Sea Lion Caves. Total rip off. Its cramped, smelly, and over the top tourist trap like. You can see the same stuff from the Yaquina lighthouse area up the road. Pay the day use fee there and you get to tour the historic lighthouse, museum/visitor center, watch historical re-enactments and the park is staffed with rangers who will show you the wildlife through public telescopes. Devil's Elbow State Park north of Florence is a good one too. Some interesting rock formations and a short trail walk up to Heceta Head lighthouse. Great views, and it's supposedly haunted.

For fun, you might pop into Chinook Winds Casino in the Lincoln City/Newport area. It's right on the beach.
