It depends on the company - Nokia is in Finland, Motorolla is in the US, Siemens is in Germany, Samsung and LG are in Korea, RIM (Blackberry) is in Canada - and NEC, Panasonic, Sony and Sanyo are all from Japan...

Usually, they will come out first in whatever part of the world the company is in - but Japan does seem to get most other electronics first...

Most of the best and coolest phones get released in Europe and Asia before coming to the US, if they come to the US at all. The cellular companies here in the US have too much control and power in deciding on which phones are released. It is so depressing seeing all the cool HTC phones released over there and knowing they will never come here, unless I spend lots of money importing one :(
