I have to replace the petcock on my 1993 GSXR motorcycle. Does anyone have any ideas how to do this without taking it to a mechanic?

They're fairly easy to replace.
Drain gas out of tank.
Unscrew petcock (some just screw in, others screw in and there is a lock nut that tightens down).
Screw in new one.
Don't forget to install a NEW seal, so it doesn't leak.

Drain the fuel first. Then remove the old petcock and replace it with a new one.
