Well, if it broke, then there would be flooding all the way down the Arizona/California border. Navada and Arizona would probably go through a little water shortage, but not on a devastating level. The Grand Canyon would not flood because it is upstream of Lake Meade.

The Colorado River would rage uncontroled through the Grand Canyon and beyond. Mexico would recieve about 10 times thier promised water from the river instantly.
The loss of human life, crops and other property would have a huge impact on America and Mexico.

Try looking at a map of Arizona and Nevada. There's a big lake there called Lake Meade. If the dam breaks, Lake Meade becomes one giant mud puddle for about a week, then the desert sun would dry it up.
Oh, and Las Vegas would not have electricity anymore.

a lot of hidden answers would be revealed if the dam broke. The government has implemented a special task force to make sure that this never happens.
