I thought it was stupid for even doing a list again. They did this 10 years ago and they said they did it again because so many good movies have come out in the past 10 years. Yet when I watched it the only movies I noticed in the past 10 years was Lord of the Rings and Saving Private Ryan! Two freckin movies! Why even do the list again? Also, it seemed a great majority of the movies on there were from pre 1975. What there were no great movies made in the 80's or 90's or 2000's? I like a lot of movies from different era's but this seemed like just a bunch of old fogies putting a list together.

Even though they "redid" it from ten years ago, it seems very outdated. Granted, all of those movies are great but how many of the younger kids are going to be interested in seeing most of them? If they want a list like that they need to consider today's interests.
Schindler's List is the newest one in the top 10 and it was made in 1993. I'm sorry, but I think there have been some movies made in the past ten years better than some of those.

Generally I agree with it but think Gone With the Wind is one of the most overrated movies of all time. The main characters are unlikable and the movie romanticizes a society that endorsed slavery.
It's also rather silly to have a list that is restricted to just American movies. "The Seven Samurai," "The Devil's Backbone," "Das Boot," and "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" definitely deserved mention in the top ten.

lol I was wondering what people thought as well. I disagreed with the list on one simple thing. There was no John Carpenter. Carpenter is considered one of the great horror directors of the modern era and he gets snubbed. Although I guess what it might be is the overall feeling that horror really isn't high class movies I suppose.

i think that they consider a lot of different things when they make the list, including overall impact, so even if i don't necessarily like a movie on their list, i might have to agree that it was a very influential movie. i agree with most of their top 10 for that reason.

Well I agree with most of it. What happened to classics like Star Wars, LOTR, and Harry Potter, though? However, most of them are really good movies.
