I want to share with you that I was told I was having a miscarriage. There was a lot of blood, and it was scary.
Two weeks later, I knew something wasn't right. I demanded an hcg test and an ultrasound. Go figure... I was still pregnant!!!! I had torn my placenta, but the baby was still fine. He was born last December.
Tell you mom to insist on the tests... and hcg level, and an ultrasound... before they let her schedule a d&c.
If she loses the baby, my deepest sympathies. But be encouraged that she now knows she CAN get pregnant. Some women can't.
I hope you get the baby brother or sister you're longing for. {{{XOXO}}}

No, once the bleeding starts it is almost always too late. In relatively often the baby passed days of even weeks ago. However bleeding does not always indicate a miscarriage.
Just try to be there for her, and encourage her to get medical assistance. There is often a treatable cause for infertility or frequent miscarriages. The only thing worse than 6 years of trying to get pregnant when simple treatment would have helped, is 6 years and 1 day of trying. Though she may not be ready to try again for awhile, when she is she really needs to talk to some specialists.

My mother had 3 miscarriages when I was younger and it was too soon in the pregnancy for the baby to be of any sufficient size to have lived. Usually the body miscarries due to a problem with the baby and it is best that this happen. It is very hard to deal with and it is still a loss but sometimes it is for the best. Hopefully your mom will be able to try again and everything will be fine. Prayers are with you.

An early miscarriage (within the first 3 months) can't be saved, it's nature's way of saying that something is wrong with the fetus and it can't survive. Miscarriage or early labour after the 7th month can possibly be saved but it all depends on the situation. My condolences.

I will tell you a story that is true and it is regarding me. I was pregnant and I started to bleed all day as well. I called the doctor and told her what had happened. She informed me that I miscarried. and there was nothing they could do about it, they told me to put my feet up over the weekend and come in Monday morning for a d.c. I did that and went through the mourning process. I went in on Monday and they prepped me for surgery. My doctor came in and said before we do this I want to take a ultra sound to find out why you miscarried. It was then that they discovered I was still pregnant with twins. That is a true story and my twins are 13 years old today. Bleeding can mean many different things for different women. Consult with your doctor and insist on a ultra sound. All the best and I will say a little prayer for your mom...kat

I'm sorry, but no. There's no way to stop an early miscarriage. But it's possible it isn't actually a miscarriage. There are other reasons you can bleed during early pregnancy.

Most people will still get a positive pregnancy test even after they've miscarried because the hormones take a while to leave the body. I'm sorry for you and your mom.

I'm sorry. When you are having a miscarriage it means the loss of a pregnancy, or expulsion of a fetus before it is sufficiently developed to survive. I'm sorry for the loss :(

the best thing she is doing is going to the hospital.. if anything can be done they will try their best.. but most likely.. that baby is going to end in a misscarriage..usually if they do end like that.there was something wrong with the baby itself.im sure your mom is getting the best attention she can get right now..keep your head up..
