Some guys eat, sleep, play, dream, and fantasize about hockey. Hockey is their world.

It boils down to you. Do you think he has enough redeeming qualities that you can live with the fact that he is a hockey fanatic? Some women are ok with it. If he's out with the boys, they are out with the girls. Some women aren't, its an issue of priorities. If you were pregnant going into labor, and he had a playoff game, which would he pick.

Besides, don't let him leave you. YOU LEAVE HIM!

And... there are plenty of other hockey players who are not as obsessed.

From what people tell me, I'm not one of them. =)

Good luck!!!

You should find a new boyfriend. I don't know you so can't say if you are lame but Hockey can be that great. If he wants to leave you though let him.

Ah, another potential hockey widow. Hockey is that great and hockey players are different about the game than most other sports. Rinks are businesses now, so they are pushing the sport 12 months a year in most places.

The only reason I managed to get married was that I was down for a year after shoulder surgery. Since I wasn't able to skate, I actually spent time with my girlfriend (now wife). I managed to hook her well enough that she puts up with my hockey anyway.

Put up with it or tag along. Hockey players are generally good guys and make great dating material. All my wife's single friends come out to my games to meet the boys when they are on the prowl for a date.

Bob called it.

um.... the question in your details ...

"Am I really that lame or is hockey that great?"

is that a trick question? you're kinda backing me into a corner. um, i don't know you at all, but i DO know that hockey is awesome.

so ... that doesn't leave a whole lotta latitude there. you MAY wanna rephrase your question.

seriously though, i answered your other question. good luck, but i think you should move on now. there's a better person out there. it's not like he was the ultimate guy. (no guy is)

The fact that your boyfriend wants to play hockey is no reflection on you. It is a life decision that he has made. Also he is your boyfriend, not your husband. Since he wants to go play hockey, I assume that you are young as well as he. Wish him well, and move on.

you better go along.... this guy loves the game and evidently desires to be great.... relationships have ruined many a great career before the career truly begins.... if you like hockey, this shouldnt even be a question girl.... behind every good man is a great woman--- GO CHASE THE DREAM TOGETHER... afterall, following a hard game, he is gonna need a womans touch to heal and comfort all that bothers him... give him not just something to come back to, but SOMEONE to come to...

hockey just is that great, maybe go with him, or try to get him to teach you if you want to learn. But yes, hockey is just awesome.

I agree with AG. If I got one of those, I'd stay home from hockey.
