It is most definitely a book worth reading. That sounds just about right for a freshman in high school because I read that book when I was a freshman. The movie has a lot of changes so it is hardly like the book. Personally, I found the movie extremely lame. The book is much better. I would also suggest reading Angels and Demons. It is by the same author and it is just as good.

NO - It is very different from the movie - much too different to get away with just watching the movie. The movie doesnt do justice to the book at all. No, the book wont be confusing for a high school freshman. Just read it slowly - concentrate on one chapter every couple of days and you should have no problem at all. If you do - you know where you can come for help! Pax - C

The book is definitely worth reading...but i would caution you... if you are catholic/christian, this book might shake your beliefs/faith in your religion...but remember...this is a work of fiction...even the author says so...so don't get carried away ok?=)
and one more thing...reading is better than watching a movie beacuse it stimulates your imagination...it's like excercise for the mind...the book is treasury of adventures...and films/movie cram a much as adventure in a 2+ hour time frame, that sometimes, crucial scenes were omitted... I have read the book 3 times before watching the fil...and to tell you the truth...i was disappionted w/ the movie...it didn't do justice to Dan brown's creativity...
And if you finish the book and there's stll enough time before the next school year starts...try reading "Memoirs of A Geisha" too...that's one good book also...
hope i helped!=)

The books a fun read, far superior to the movie and a great summer distraction. I love Tom Hanks, but he was horribly miscast as Robert Langdon. it should have been the guy from Thank You for Smoking (can't think of his name). BUT - before you read the Da Vinci Code, read its predecessor by the same author, Angels and Demons. Much better.

it's defidently worth reading. You might get lost, I sure did, and have to read it again, but trust me, it's worth re-reading. It's a little like the movie but there are a lot more details in the book that the movie never made.

It is worth reading, but is far different than the book. It really depends on the reader's maturity and ability to take "sacrilege" with a grain of salt.

the movie is almost a rip-off from the book with poor directing skills, but i suggest reading the book would be more exciting and with more suspense.. yes, it is kind of worth reading... the book has much more suspense and more thriller based
