White Sox vs Balitmore Orioles, or White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins
I don't really know baseball that well, but my father is visiting me and he wants to watch a match...I'd rather go see one that seems better to watch! :)

Go see the White Sox and Orioles.

Now the other posters are right: the Twins are definitely better than the Orioles. But that doesn't matter. What you want to see is a FUN game!

So why will the Orioles be a more fun opponent to watch? Because you'll see more runs scored!

The White Sox don't score a lot of runs, and the Twins don't give up a lot of runs. You'll most likely see a low-scoring game. It will be well played, but it won't be as fun to watch.

With the Orioles, you'll see the White Sox offense come to life against the Orioles bullpen. Don't leave the game early! The White Sox could easily score 9 runs in the last 3 innings against the Orioles bullpen!

Not only that, the odds are much better that the White Sox will win the game. That means the crowd will be much more enthusiastic, adding to the atmosphere (I assume you live in Chicago).

If you see the Twins, and Johann Santana is pitching, you will see the best pitcher in the game. You will also most likely see the Sox look pathetic against him. You will sit in the stadium and wonder how 30,000 people can be so quiet.

Trust me. As someone who has accompanied many people to their first baseball game, you want to see the White Sox play the Orioles.

Watching any live Major League Baseball game can be fun, and I hope you learn to enjoy the game; it is a very pleasant way to spend a few hours. You will find that you can enjoy the action of the game as well as the atmosphere, and still find time to visit with your father and catch up on things.

If I had to make a choice concerning the match-ups you have listed, I think I would choose to watch the White Sox play the Twins. They are both exciting teams and will be close to the top of their division when the season ends, and since they are in the same division, they are always trying to get an advantage in the won-loss column over each other.

Though the Orioles are not as strong as the Twins in general, they can be exciting, as well, on many occasions. The great thing about baseball is that on any given day any team can beat the other! It depends on a key hit, who is pitching, or a number of other variables. Any game can be quite mundane, or can come down to a nail-biting, extra innings affair that has everyone on the edge of their seats. That is why so many people enjoy it, and it is still considered by many of the older generation to be the real "National Pasttime".

Perhaps by checking the schedule of the other activities you wish to do with your father while he is there visiting can help you determine the best choice of game to go see.

Have fun at the ballpark with your Dad! I hope you learn what an enjoyable activity seeing a game can be, and you become a fan!

KES :-)

Baseball is a very unpredictable game at the Major League Level so any team can win any game. I'm assuming both games would be at US Cellular, so the better atmosphere would probably be found at the Twins and Sox game rather than the O's. If your dad would like to see the Sox win go with the Orioles game, if he would like to see a better atmosphere go to the Twins game.

I think that the White Sox vs. Minnesota Twins would be a better game to go see. Especially if you could get to a game when Johan Santana is pitching!

Go see the Twins and the White Sox, they are both in the AL Central division and a team the Twins will have to beat if they have any hope of going to the playoffs.
