Certainly you can. A group of 6 or more is the best way to keep them. An equal ratio of males to females usually works out ok for cherry barbs, but you don't have to be dead on target. They aren't nearly as aggressive as tiger.

Yes. 2 males with 5-7 females would be a great mix. The males will chase the females though with 5-7 of them their amorous behavior will be spread out and no problem for the females.

10 gallons is kind of small for that many barbs - you may want to look into getting a 20 gallon tank or just add one male.

Yes you may put them together, and they will flourish better if kept in a large group like that. Just remember that the water to fish ratio is: 1 inch of fish per gallon of water.

i have iger barbs and i had seven. one died :( . and they played with eachoher just if the fish do get pregnet take ALL the fish out any bars are agrresive to small or injured fish of any kind so it will be alright.

they love being in groups of five plus dont get a bigger tank they will all fit in
