I received some old paint and used it for my house.
Then I get scared that may be this paint has a lead.
Since paint with lead was not produced from 1978, is it possible that this paint is from that old time?
It's unlikely that it's stored for almost 30 years.
Is anybody with that knowledge?

See if there is a copyright date on the label somewhere, it would give an approximate age, since companies update their labels every few years. Also, there is probably some kind of lot # or code # on the can somewhere, you can call the company and they could probably tell you when it was made, and if it had lead in the formulation.

I would take it in to a paint shop and have them look at it. They would be able to test it for you. You can also buy a home lead test kit at any home center and test it yourself. I would dispose of it properly if it's really that old and just get freah paint. Plus, it can't be any good after that long anyway

Go to a hardware store or paint store and get the little crayon like tester to ease your mind. If the cans were extremely well sealed or never opened and were shaken, there is a slight chance they are that old.

If it's latex, there's no lead in it.
