No! Take it from a alternative rock and country fan....Nickleback is NOT country-rock. Have you heard most of their music? Yes, "Rockstar" sounds a tad bit on the country side, but the sound goes with the lyrics...laid back. Anyways, they are alternative rock all the way. Check out some of their older stuff. It's a lot harder than their new stuff.

If you think Guns n Roses, Alice in Chains, and Led Zeppelin are Country Rock then yes Nickelback is too. However The Marshall Tucker Band, The Allman Bros. Band and The Charlie Daniels Band are what I'd call Country Rock.

Jess, considering that Nickelback hails from Canada, southern rock isn't the term I would use for them. Basically to me they are just rock, they don't re-invent rock music, they are just real successful at what they do. Secondly, Lynyrd is widely considered as Southern rock, they are the most well known group of that genre.

Nickelback doesn't sound like country at all, it's more like pop in rock 'n' roll form.

They are described as "Post Grunge" on Wikipedia. But they're definitely not Country-Rock. I've actually never heard of that genre, lol.

They're not country at all, I'm sorry but I don't even see how you could think they are country. On iTunes they are listed as Metal. But I honestly don't see them as that either, I see them as Alternative / Rock / Soft Rock / Pop.

They're post-grunge. That means they rip-off bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

Uhh..no, Lynyrd Skynyrd is more Country rock. Southern rock is the correct term.

No people, what I am saying is that Skynyrd is Southern Rock...Country rock is not even a genre of music.
