This is a trick question since there are limitless possiablities. First it would matter how old is the tank? if it is new less than 6 weeks, no fish will work. It needs to finish cycling. Do you have live rock? I house two clowns, an anemone 2 porc puffers two yellow tails and a yellow tang in my 1 30 gallon. There are only certain fish that cannot go together.

certain triggers are so mean they cannot be housed with other fish. Damsels like the yellow tails, blues and clowns are agressive but hearty and when kept in pairs or equal size groups they do well in the same tank. Also, no starfish or anemone until your tank is older.

Check out saltwaterfish.com. Each fish listed will tell you what it can live with and what should stay out of the tank.

Feel free to email me if you wish.

Welcome to the wonderful world of salt.

or one clown, a firefish and a clown goby. they are all peaceful with good color and stay relativrly small. feed them frozen mysis, the clown fish would benefit for a small amount of nori or other algae based food, feed the frozen once a day and flake once day. just make sure not to add them at the same time, start with the clown first, then after ammonia, nitrite test come up 0 add another, repeat. just stay away from damsels, there cheap, but mean as anything.

I certainly have a tank with basically button polyps and zoanthids. 3wpg is a lot of sunshine for polyps, mushrooms and maximum delicate corals. as quickly as you initiate entering into the annoying corals, then you definately'll want a competent volume of sunshine.. 6+ wpg. additionally, you will have the skill to maintain in spite of invert you desire with your modern-day setup. good success.

two tank raised ocerellerius clowns.. i think thats how you spell it. they get 2.5 inches, maybe a few other fish, some hermit crabs for cleanup crew

you should cycle with live rock. you will wind up needing about 20lbs live rock. and use live sand too. about 20-30lbs of it. this will help you cycle faster. keep ph high, about 8.0-8.4, temp about 78, salinity around 1.022. topp off with reverse osmosis water, and do water changes when nitrates get into toxic amounts.

hope this helps.
