If you are not near that time now, forget it. Physically everyone is limited by their body shape and makeup. Do all of the weight training, running stairs, etc. in the world maybe improve your 40 time slightly, say .05 or maybe .1 seconds. You will never go from a 5.0 to a 4.5.

The old saying is "You can't teach speed." If your time now is nowhere near 4.34, it may be tough. If you can run 100 yards under 10.5 or 100 meters under 11.5, you may have a chance. If not, think about being a lineman...

well running a 40 isnt all about beign fast. u gota react quick to the whistle, and work on your stance. if u react quickly, run fast, and run in a proper position all these things will make u quicker.

run hills with either ankle weights or a back pack filled with rocks...i ran track and currently play semi pro football and that's what i did..i run a 4.43 40 and that's how i did it..also do alot of butt exercises..y? because your butt is where your run power comes from..try it, i guarantee u'll get good results trust me.
