I need to know what they eat, where I can get them, what kind of habit they need, how much they cost, and anything else you can give me. Thank you so much, I plan on getting one, and need some help. :D

I have no idea how much they cost or where to buy them, but if you live anywhere near a university with an entomology department, you might try calling them and asking for some. Our department is routinely gives them to school children and teachers for biology classes or to keep as pets.

For habitat, any of the smaller critter habitats will work just fine. I keep mine in a small plastic carrier I bought at Walmart for $3. As long as there is some ventilation and a lid, you should be fine. Some bark or wood for them to hide under is also good.

A basic diet of dog food or rat chow is pretty good, especially if you supplement it with some fresh fruit once in a while. Just make sure nothing gets moldy. I feed mine a little of just about everything I eat, but have found that some things, like Skittles, they do not like. Fresh fruit and veggies will also help to supply some of the water they need. A bowl of water is a bad idea, because they can drown in it, but a moist sponge or paper towel is necessary.

They eat decaying and fresh vegetation. Mine loves tomatoes. Mine (Maddy) cost about $5 and I ordered her from a science catalog. She lives in a 5 gal aquarium with some plants, bark, and egg crate cardboard to hide under. But beware....mine had about 50 babies a few months after I got her. Supposedly their gestation is 60-70 days but I had mine over 90 days when she had babies. They don't lay eggs, they just have babies and then hide them from you until they're bigger. I fed some of my babies to my bearded dragon, but I flushed the rest because they gave me the heebies. Oh, and the brochure said only males hiss, but that's wrong. Maddy hisses.

Hissers like a slightly humid forest floor type environment. I like to use coconut fibre as a substrate with some flat bark pieces for hiding spots. They are fine with regular room temperatures. Any type of greens, fruits and veg. can make up their diet with some occasional soaked dry dog or cat food. I keep a small water dish in with them as well.
Their availability will vary as they are illegal in some places.
