I have a 40GB monthly download limit because of my ISP.
This month I have downloaded loads of stuff but I' m not quite sure how much I've have used. Is there any way for me to check how much I have used? I know there are some meters out there but they only start counting from the install date onwards, and if it catches the point of the month where the limit resets back to 40 the meter doesnt reset until it finishes the 30 day cycle and i dont know when the ISP resets the download limit every month (dont even know how that works to be honest)

any help on howto find out all that kind of things but more importantly the quantity in gb of download ive downloaded this month?

Thank you.

Mauro

some people don't realise that everything they see on their screen that isn't on their computer has been downloaded!
that said i would agree with jimmy check your isp. log into your account and you should be able find out. after all if they are going to charge for going over your limit. they should make it possible for you to keep track of your use! i don't know but i would think they would have trouble legally otherwise.

I have read about ISPs limiting downloads capacity per month, and I have read about a few ISPs (especially in Canada) limiting the actual download speed of of user accounts (to save on bandwidth costs). Common download-limiting ISPs are when you are using a cell phone service's data plan for a laptop computer. But in any case, check your ISP's website for a support page that gives you the status/statistics of your account. I don't have a download limit, but if I get really really bored, I'll check it.

examine the bandwidth allowance that the equipment you have offered promises, even with the reality that so a techniques as i'm conscious it is going to be limitless If the shrink for the equipment is say 10GB per 30 days then you certainly would be constrained to importing/downloading 10GB of documents each month and which may be accomplished via proscribing the value at which you would be able to pass documents 128Kb/s sounds particularly sluggish nevertheless so reboot your modem/router and then attempt finding out it returned to make certain if it makes a distinction. each so often the line needs clearing in any different case touch Virgin's helpline and have them look at this yet to be ordinary even limitless programs can see constrained pass costs by using honest play rules so in case you acquire quite a few documents then that could clarify why that is sluggish

I'm not sure about your ISP.

However, I think it's not really the ISP limiting your download. It's more of the website where you download from.

I download videos and music all the time, hundreds of gigs in a month. I don't get any limits. But some websites would of course limit you to download only to a specific number of bytes.
