Remember:

1. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

2. Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.

3. If you woke up breathing, congratulations; you get another chance.

And finally, be really nice to your family and friends; you never know when you might need them to empty your bed pan.

I take your advice to heart...I will add:
1)any day spent above ground is a good day.
2) never tell your kids your net worth...your days above ground may become limited
3) Never tell your kids they are your heirs...your days above ground will become even more limited
4) If you are a woman, go to New York, rent a very expensive diamond necklace and have a great portrait taken wearing it. Hang it over the fire place. When asked where you got it, "oh, that old thing...grandmother handed that down to me years ago, it is part of my estate.
5) Will your house to the kids. There will come a day when those same kids will tear your house apart, stick by stick, to find that necklace! You can die laughing from above as you "watch." And, they will always remember you while searching high and low for "grandma's necklace. "

The World Health Organisation recommends that pregnant women do not consume any alcohol at all. So do the US and Canadian governments. UK government advice is slightly different, hence what your doctor told you. However, there is increasing evidence that even small amounts of alcohol can cause fetal alcohol syndrome. Some women seem to be able to drink quite a bit during their pregnancy, others consume a small amount and there are affects on their baby. It's impossible to know which type of woman you are. Even if a baby appears to come out fine, the alcohol could have easily caused a reduction in IQ. Alcohol is absorbed directly into the blood stream and therefore gets delivered straight to your baby. You might want to ask yourself, would you give a few mouthfuls of wine to a newborn? Could you live with yourself if something was wrong with your baby as a result of drinking? I think that within a few years, the government in the UK will have revised its advice on this matter. To be on the safe side, don't drink. There's plenty of time for a nice glass of red after the baby is born.

I'm in the older bracket, but as yet don't need the bed pans or the toilet too often. But as you say who knows what is to come. When you wake up you know you have got another day to be nice to everybody, not because you want anything in return,it's just that it 's so much nicer to be nice, and be happy. The last thing to be is miserable. You know you can't do all the things you used to do,and need a bit of help from family or friends for some of the more difficult tasks, but accept their help gratefully as they are only too pleased to help someone they love.

Excellant. Without our senses of humor-I dont know where we'd all be.

Having a bad memory can be a good thing. It excuses a lot of things.

Nice, but slightly depressing. I don't want to think about getting old yet; I'm only 19! :-(
