is anyone here happy to be alone...maybe not alone ALONE.. but alone in the sense of not being tied down to a romantic relationship. just being dependant on yourself to make your destiny and happiness?

Yes. I've found I'm much more sane when I'm alone. It's just the process of getting there after the relationship ends that sucks. But I think I can safely say after 4 months, I'm alone, and that's OK with me :)

It is nice to be single after years of being in an unhappy relationship. So, I guess I have become happy with who I am and my situation. I enjoy dating but do not want to be in a relationship with any one. I enjoy the company of others but I also can be content by myself. I can go out to dinner and a movie by myself and feel happy. Thanks for the question, it made me think about life and the pursuit of happiness.

No I am not happy being alone. my husband is in Iraq and I am raising our two kids. Its really hard and I really just want to give up, but I know my husband is fighting for a worthwhile cause.

I would much rather be by myself then in a miserable realtionship with some dork. Having someone doesn't equal happiness. Being happy with yourself does.

Been single since 1992....once I got used to it it was ok...now I enjoy it and not sure I would trade it for a relationship...guess it will take a very special person for me to want to.

it's because i choose to, i dont think ill ever let myself become dependent or tied down to anyone. i'm still young and i dont feel pressure to be in a relationship or rush into it until i'm ready. hey, we are "quirkyalones" google it =o)
