I smoked for 3 years. I honestly don't understand with all that we know about nicotine how anyone can continue to smoke. It's smells and kills people.
Though what I think about people who smoke depends on how they smoke. There was a woman who worked with me that would go to the coffee truck, light up and stand there looking at the selections smoking her cigarette, dropping her ashes all over everything, blowing smoke in my face (I am pregnant) as well as everyone else's. I think she is a vial woman, but not just from the smoking, though ehr smoking habits didn't help. She would also light up before she stepped outside the door, like the 3 seconds really made a difference. And I asker her several times not to do that.
There are a lot of people that I work with who smoke that would go to the truck, pick out what they wanted, walk away and light up, away from the door as well. There is someone I work with that even carries spray with her so she doesn't smell like smoke.

I was 13 when I started smoking and I am 29 now, so I have been smoking for 16 years. Even though I smoke I now think it is a very expensive, unhealthy and smally habbit that I wish i could quit. It causes severe breathing problems, cancer and even death yet still people light up every day. One day maybe they will come out with SOMETHING that will honestly help with quitting. Gum doesn't work, the patch doesn't either and the new meds they have out cost 150 bucks a month! They are making it REALLY hard to quit! If you are considering smoking, take it from me, you will regret in one day so PLEASE don't start!

No, I do not smoke. However, I did begin to smoke cigarettes at a party following the last football game in which I played in my senior year in high school and continued for many years (no, I won't tell you how many). I quit 21 years ago.
What do I think about people who do smoke? I think they're among the most unfairly stigmatized and persecuted victims of the nanny state. If I were to start up a tavern, I'd make it for smokers only. If you didn't have a lit cigarette in your hand, you would not be allowed in. If I had to turn it into a private club in order to force the government to butt the hell out (no pun intended), I would.

I have never smoked; I grew up hating my father's smoking. I can't stand to be around it.
What do I think of people who smoke? I think they probably started when they were young and are now addicted and most wish they could quit. People who smoke and think they have some sort of "right" to smoke wherever they choose annoy me. I actually had someone light up next me when I was noticeably pregnant! And people who toss cigarette butts out of their cars need to be shot. I've actually run across very few considerate smokers; usually they're rude and obnoxious.

I used to smoke, and my gosh I loved it. I do not smoke now, I quit years ago. I started when I was a teenager because I thought it was cool, my older brothers had cigarettes I could steal. I still love the smell of cigarettes, but would never smoke again.

I started smoking when I was 11 but quit when I was 13...because of peer pressure and i thought maybe it would help me get away from everything but it just made it worse. I think people who smoke should REALLY try to quit cuz it can mess you up realllyy bad.

Yes, I started smoking to relieve stress after I left my ex husband. I guess I've been smoking about 2 years now. I'm not addicted to it either, I can go days or weeks without one, but I like to have one after I eat and after I have sex. I've cut down from about half a pack a day to about 2 or 3 cigarettes a day.

No, it's gross and although I understand that it's an addictive behavior, I can't understand why anyone would want to inhale that disgusting smelling smoke. What gets me every time is that people smoke right outside the gym and/or before/after a workout...it's no wonder they're dying for air on the cardio machines.

No, I don't smoke. I think people shouldn't smoke. I stay away from people at public places when I see them smoking. I don't want any secondhand smoke. Unfortunately, my dad smokes. I want him to quit, and he always says he will by some certain time, but he doesn't. People who smoke aren't always necessarily bad.

No, I quit years ago. It doesn't bother me if other people want to smoke, though I don't care to be in a crowded, smoky room myself.
I originally started smoking in High School - all of my gang smoked back then.
