In our culture... especially tall women.. why do people find tall women more attractive?
From a psychological point of view what signals does height give out and so on..

Personally, I find women shorter than myself more attractive.
Height is a symbol of power. It's in our nature to think that it is.
It's on the same aspect of "Why do men like breasts". Sorry for the vulgarity, but back in time... It would show a man that the woman could feed and provide for their child. Men still find breasts attractive subconsciously since then.
Height is on the same basis, it represents strength and power.
The reason some men find taller women more attractive is because of the legs. Some guys find leggy women very attractive.
On a personal note though. I'm 5'10'', I'm attracted to women 5' ~ 5'5''.

It doesn't seem like tall women are thought to be more attractive. but they are more rare and we prize the rare. I think it's interesting how almost everyone now has gotten braces and has beautiful white, straight teeth. Soon I imagine, that crooked teeth will be the beautiful ideal. Also tall women attract more attention to themselves because of their stature and they stand out more in the field of vision. I'm not really sure what you a speaking about but to discuss Models , they aren't really thought of as being absolutely stunning but they wear the stunning clothes. They don't detract from them by their curves or height, they are like walking canvases. It's a misconception today that we think models are the ideal because they wear the beautiful clothes, but it's because the clothes wear them that we choose them.

I don't know, I'm a 5"0' man and I can't get a woman. I could ask the same question about short men as you are asking about tall women, only the opposite effect for us short men...

I always wondered the same thing. Sometimes people will refer to me as being shorter and I never even think about it but apparently many do. I was fortunate enough to use my height to my advantage when involved in gymnastics. But you're right. I really don't notice height so much on males or females but Many do.
Maybe they're self-conscious of their own issues and so it seems more pronounced when something is not on the scale of Average--whatever that may be(?)

Where did you hear that tall women are perceived as more attractive than short ones? All I see are tall guys dating short girls, which tends to really bug me, since I'm a tall girl. =O/

My preference is for shorter women, I'm 6ft and i like around 5ft 1 to 5ft 6... just because we fit better... I think guys like runway models because they have long legs but if a man were so Lucky to date one he would be disappointed because men are naturally meant to protect and its hard to feel that way when your date is as tall as you or taller.

I much prefer shorter women. Or at the very least, shorter than me. It's a physics thing in the bedroom. And shorter is much cuter.
But just being tall wouldn't stop me from dating someone.

maybe because men are tall. some like short though
