I can agree with that somewhat. In order to put so much effort into hating someone you must care...Eli Wiesel once said that the opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. That's because you have to care enough about someone in order to hate them. If you don't care...you're being indifferent and you don't hate them, you're just plain cold...
The emotion is just too strong to not have loved them at one point. The purest hate comes from loving someone and then have been wronged by that person. Nothing else could make someone hate someone else so much, I don't think.

very philosophical! and in that context, I would agree. The balance of knowledge in both areas effects our feelings on a personal level, therefore allowing stronger emotions. I would ask you, can you really love someone unless you hated them at one time or another? Forgiveness has its rewards. And hatred only hurts the one who bears such a burden, in the long run.

You can hate anyone you want, but lots of times it is someone you love.
“You know that when I hate you, it is because I love you to a point of passion that unhinges my soul.”

I hate people that have to "swing out" in their car to make a turn. I never loved any of them.

Not true. I worked with a guy who I did not like from day one. When I left the job, finally, I had grown to hate him.

Love and Hate is two sides of the same coin, just like good and evil. Without evil you dont know what what good is.

I indeed hate that b***h that cut me off on the freeway, then gave me pompous smirk. Believe me, there wasn't any love there, past, present, or future!
