I found few small starfish on the beach. I'm gonna wait until they die to put them in the fish tank. What is the best way to preserve these starfish? How do I put them in the water without them being so stink when they die?

Go to a craft store and buy preserved already dead starfish. Leave the alive ones on the beach. The craft store ones may be easier to deal with.

Have you stopped to consider what you are doing? You keep fish, therefore I would have thought you had some kind of compassion. You subject these innocent Starfish to an agonizing death purely for your own gratification & once in your tank their decaying bodies will probably kill your fish-way to go!!

i dont have the same compassion for a starfish that everyone esle does, it is an animal and one without a brain or even a spinal cord for that matter. sorry but it doesnt suffer any more than an ant when you squish it. but yeah a crft store one would be better. it will rot, very quickly. it may also be illegal depending on what species and where you live

Why do you want it to die? Put it in your tank alive. Killing animals is cruel.
