Ive got an ECS nforce 570 SLIt motherboard and I want to know if a core 2 quad (q6600) will work in it

NO for both Versions (3.1 and 5.1) of that motherboard.

It does not appear that the quad core will work on it. If I were you, I'd save my money and purchase a Core 2 Duo processor. In 2009 Intel is going to go away from the FSB, subsequently creating a brand new, faster processor. This will pretty much yield any expensive processor you purchase now... obsolete. Save your money now, purchase something great in 2 years.
