Because USA is a supepower you shall get legitimate and illegitimate complaints against the supepower, USA, even if you think is unfair. No superpower in history since the Sumerians and Babilonians have ever been 100% "popular".. Call it "the law of history". You rarely hear complaints against, let us say, New Zealand or Paraguay. Of course, New Zealand is a regional power, and Paraguay is somewhat poor. So why complain them? But USA is an hyperpower. Quite an invitation for criticism, good or bad. What do you think?

Because they're Americans? If you're a Jew, you likely take anti-Semitism pretty seriously, for instance. If you're gay, you probably take homophobia personally.

Is there some reason Americans should welcome being hated?
