I dunno about the whole east west thing. The pistons and heat somehow managed to win championships in the last couple years. I think people think Kobe is better because he puts up more points, but I do think Lebron has much better teamates. THe lakers suck at everything, while the cavs just suck at putting up points. They held the spurs to 78 points in one game. I think the pressure of the championships got to the cavs, that's why they got swept.
Back on point, I think Kobe and Lebron are about equal atm, but The king is only 22 and kobe is in his prime.

Well smartypants, there are a few reasons why Kobe did not make it to the finals and LeBron did. One obvious reason you stated in your question is the West is better. If the Cavs had to travel the same road the Lakers did in the playoffs, LeBron would have suffered the same fate. Now that I think about it if the Wizards team was healthy, LeBron might have been oust in the first round. Also rest assured if the Cavs had to play the Suns in the first round like the Lakers, LeBron would have been on vacation just like Kobe. A good question: if the Cavs were in the western conference would they make the playoffs.
Conclusion, if Kobe wants to make it the finals, he will need to move to the eastern conference.

It is not just the east vs west thing. I think the Cavs TEAM is better than the Lakers TEAM. The Lakers might have more talented guys but he is not a leader. The Lakers could not beat the Cavs either. Let me tell you why. A few years ago the Lakers with Shaq loss to the Pistons with Ben Wallace. The lakers clearly had an advantage in that department. The Cavs with a 21 year old Lebron took that same team to seven games and the Lakers got beats in five.

The Western Conference was loaded with talented teams, though the Lakers playoff position would have been 6th in the East (from 7th in the West). That would have set up a winnable first-round series vs. Toronto.
Great for speculation, but the bottom line is the Lakers need a lot of help to climb back into championship contention, with or without Kobe.

Well for starters, The westcoast is ridiculously filled with talent and it's only going to get better with greg oden and kevin durant coming to western teams.
Also the lakers had a bunch of injuries the second half of the season.
When the lakers were complete Kobe dropped 50 in a row 5 consecutive games. He also went for 65. To hate Kobe is one thing but to deny talent is another, keep in mind Kobe has the second highest points in history, 3 rings
too, so yeah Kobe is just a little bit better lol

1 - The Cleveland Cavaliers has an excellent season put man did they just lay down and die in the NBA Finals! I was every disappointed in the entire team; since they lost to a whole team effort of shutting down LeBron, no one else failed to step up and the coaching staff made little to no adjustments to make San Antonio alter their defensive play.
2 - If I had to chose between Kobe or LeBron to build my team around - give me LeBron. The latest antics by Kobe [trade me / dont trade me / I will throw the team under the bus via an underground tape] just sealed the deal for me as far as I am concerned. Kobe, your good but you are not Michael Jordan nor Bill Russell incarnate!!! For those of you scoring the success of a player based on number of rings..Kobe 3, Tim Duncan 4, MJ 6 and Bill Russell 9! For the last three players I just mentioned the one common thread they all had in the hardware collection spree - they had a team of great role players surrounding them. As far as Kobe is concerned, he needs to stay in LA - the team needs to keep Walton, Smush Parker, Turaf and Bynum and ditch everyone else. Make some draft moves and rebuild. It will take at least two years but it will work itself out. Kobe is not helping himself nor his team by acting the way he is right now.
The Western Conference over the past five years has had more dominant players and teams. Believe it or not in the not too distant past, the Eastern Conference was the more dominant conference due the strength of the players and the teams were stronger as a whole. The Cavailers had a better overall record but if you really put the Lakers and the Cavailers side by side - the teams are actually similiar in talent if you removed Kobe and LeBron out of the equation.

Lebron Queen James was SWEPT.
Kobe has 3 rings. No matter who played with him, he HAS the rings.
Come back and talk when Lebron gets atleast one.
because right now, the Cavs fans are not in a position to brag about James.
People who wish they could sleep with Kobe but they cant call him gay. Sour Grapes.

he is in the way tougher conference. ask any scout coach or player in the nba. if you were to switch kobe and lebronand put them on each others squad who would do better? kobe and the cavaliers. the lakers have to play better teams more often and they still were only 8 games down if you switched their conferences the lakers would win over 50 games in the east and the cavs couldnt have gotten to .500 all the teams in the western conference couldve beat the cavs in the championship they only difference is it wouldnt have been a sweep

The Lakers could beat the Cavs in a playoff series RIGHT THIS SECOND. The East is weak...doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Bron and the Cavs wouldn't make it out of the regular season if they played in the West.
And duh, LeBron has nothing on Kobe until he's won at least one title, which is yet to be done. And NO, the Lakers weren't playing like a one man team until the second half of the season: (LAL started 27-14, Cavs started 24-17)
Luke, Lamar, Kwame, V-Rad, were all on the Injured List most of the season (like, entire starting roster + change!)

They have a better record because the NBA schedule is not balanced and the Lakers played a lot more games against a much stronger West. Also, the Lakers had a lot of key injuries this year. The bottom line is that the West is so much better and deeper than the East. I dislike the Lakers as well....
