I bought a Mushkin hp-550 550watt power supply and I am using an EVGA Nforce 680i SE mobo. When I turn on the PSU, One LED light turns on on the Mobo. Thats all. There are supposed to 3 LEDs lighting up. When I press the power button ont the motherboard (yes, the motherboard), nothing happens. Is the PSU DOA or the mobo? Also, the PSU has an LED fan.

Better have that PSU tested in another PC. Turning ON of first LED could just be the +12V STDBY power. However, when you press the power button and nothing happens, the PSU is not latching the POWER ON and thus unable to start its self test and generate the PWR GOOD signal to the motherboard.

Try reseating the ATX connector. Inspect the connector, especially pin #16 (PWR ON) and pin # 8 (PWR GOOD). The pin might have retracted and not making contact.
