Well Virginia creeper is among the prettiest of climbing vines. It is green in the summer and red in the winter.
There is trumpet Ivy which the humming birds and pollinating insects just love. It comes in orange (most common) and pink and grows between 20-40ft.
There is Boston Ivy which is really nothing special but pretty.

You wouldn't want a weed, but there are MANY vines and that type of thing tahat would grow up your chimney.

Grapes will do that if you train them a little.
Honeysuckles provide a pretty green vine with either small yellow/white flowers or larege pink flowers that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. I have both kinds... you can actually pick the flowers and suck the end- they'll have a couple drops of liquid honey.

MorningGlory is a weed, but there are colored ones that are considered flowers that grow like crazy and with a little training would certainly cover your chimney with pretty multi-colored flowers. (light, pastel colors)
Hope that helps! :)
