I had that surgery seven years ago, and I am sooooo glad I did. It took about a year before I was urinating normally, the urine would just fall out, no force behind it, but after about a year, I could exert some pressure to be sure I was emptying the bladder completely. My suprapubic cathetar came out as soon as I was able to urinate, that only took me about four days. I found it all very worth doing. No more pads because I was worried about incontinence if I sneezed or laughed or coughed.
