Are you asking if they should still be allowed to exist, then the answer is yes!!!

While I personally dispise the mand everything they stand for, we do have the freedom of speach in this country.

This right, which we all share, gives groups like th KKK the right to exist, so long as they do not break any laws.

If we were to outlaw them, then who is next? Do we outlaw the NAACP for advancing Black rights?

So long as they stay within the bounds of the law, they have the constitutional right to exist and spout whatever nonsense they believe.

And I'm a Jew, so the KKK only hates me slightly less then blacks - but unfortunately, they do have the right to exist.

And just for clarification - the KKK (Klu Klux Klan) no longer exists. They were outlawed in the 1960s (if i remember the date - please correct if timing is wrong) after the organization was found guilty of tax evasion - while they could technically re-form the group, they would instantly owe millions of dollars to the government and be thrown in jail for tax evasion.

All the groups that exist today are offshoots of the KKK - but technically they are not the KKK.

I know its a technicality, but wanted to point it out.

In the UK we don't have the Klan, but we have groups like the BNP. The BNP is actually a political party and is desperate to get its' members into government. Alarmingly, a recent poll suggested that 20 per cent of people in the UK supported this group.

I think it would be a far nicer world if groups like the Klan and the BNP didn't exist. Ditto for terrorists, obviously.

Alas, I guess this is just a nice daydream...!

The KKK will regrettably constantly be around. nevertheless thank God no the place close to my domicile. Bigotry is alive and kicking in maximum each and every state. until we discover ways to alter interior ourselves and settle for loving, compassionate habit because of the fact the norm, hate will abound. isn't it unhappy that detest is a stronger emotion than love?

No. But they are. They are a sick organization that needs to be shut down.

I think have even seen a member of the KKK once before. I was helping my mother move into a house and I looked out across a field near her house and a tall man with a sheet over his head was walking across the field, he looked like one big triangle. That was one of the weirdest things i've ever seen.

Why ask only about the KKK? What about the Black Panthers? Or any other race-based hate group. It's not ONLY white people that are prejudiced.

Baning groups like the KKK would backfire.

These types of groups thrive underground and by baning them you give them a cause to rally around and evidence to support their sick views.

Better that these groups wither in the light then crawl around in the dark.

KKK does have biased, impractical, racist, and downright offensive views, but if it's in the U.S., it's still freedom of speech, sadly enough. I don't want them to continue, seeing how I'm multi-racial myself.
