COST. both of these guys have it wrong. they use metal bats because of cost. college teams can't afford to buy a 100 bats every other week

No way. Forget the bats. The worst MLB team would easily beat the best college team. On any given college team, how many players end up making a single appearance in the major leagues? There's no comparison.

Metal bats are easier to hit with, it goes a lot harder and farther. They use wooden bats in the MLB because they don't want guys jacking them out every pitch.

College players wouldn't be good enough hitters with wooden bats, that's why only the best go to the MLB.

Some say it is economics as they last longer. Most likely the manufacturers provide them. My thought is that the metal bats provide more offense in college ball. In the majors, I would suspect that many pitchers, third basemen, and fans would bite the dust because of the speed that the ball attains off metal..
