I'm a hard core caps fan and have been one my whole life and I'm not too excited for the new jersey. the new model sounds good but not different colors. I know our current jerseys are kinda boring but our name is the capitals we don't have much to work with and different colors aren't gonna change that. personally I think the whole thing is Leonsis and GM GM making sure there's that change so us fans don't through down on them when they don't sign a good free agent.

This new jersey thing is a huge joke. Betteman has done everything in his power to alter the game and drive hard core fans away. So hockey players have worn the same type of jersey(for the most part) for 80+ years and all of a sudden they aren't good enough?
Whats even worse is that he let Reebok design these pieces of crap, then told the teams and players they had to wear them. Did he consult the teams about changing jerseys? Did he ask the players if they wanted new jerseys? NO! Instead he lets the players wear them in a couple practices and takes their "advice" about how they should be changed.
If these new jerseys force teams to change their time honored jersey designs there will be an uproar.
I see it as a ploy for the NHL owners to make more money. I suspect we'll see this. They stop seeling the current style replica jerseys and force the fans to buy these new pieces of crap. Then at some point they'll come out with a "throwback" line of the current jerseys which people whill buy because they created a demand for them.

The new jerseys are are cut a little different to fit a little tighter to the body below the pads instead of hanging straight down like they do now. If you want to see what the new jerseys look like, just take a look at pics from this past year's All-Star game as they debuted there. Or check out the website below.

No one cares if they are cool, they got a contract agreement with Reebok...they got more money. The league needs more money to operate. It's not a reason to fire Bettman, it's a reason to support the league and has nothing more to do with anything than that. Only fans are making a big deal about this, but then again there is nothing better to do in the offseason.

I don't have a problem with the new jersey type. The changes are subtle. However, I will mark out like crazy if the Caps went back to the old style colors and logo. I'm old school so sue me.

The Caps jersey you see aren't the real ones although they have been leaked. And the new Jeresy's have been released already they are tighter, but no where near as tight as football jersey. They are jsut tighter to reduce holding and stuff like that.

I'm not big on the jerseys either, but its good for the Caps to go back to their old colors. That lame eagle logo was always really weak, though their third logo was one of the best in the NHL.

it's a marketing ploy to generate more revenue for the nhl, think about for most replica jerseys they cost @150 dollars multiply that by thousands of fans and look what you get. i was unaware that there was anything wrong with the other jerseys
