Yes i have a number of times, in love that i had to abandoned all hope because i did not know they did not love me after 12 years ,i took a trip home that my brother suggested to see what kind of care he would need to survive on his own i took a 30 day leave of absence, i had think sort of under control with a nurse once a week care givers three times a week , and meals on wheels every day, my mom brought me up until i went to foster home i was a run away all my life even at an older age looking for happiness which i did not know that it was in me not geographically, i called my other half they said crying i dont want you any more, i dont love you ,i said when did this happen , they said since 11 years ago ,i said why did not tell me ,they said remember that song that i deicated to you , oh yes i said, you mean,THIS IS MY LIFE I DONT GIVE A DAME THIS IS MY LIFE, I DID NOT GET THE MESSAGE, iloved them so much i would not hold them back if they would be happier with me i would not stop them be cause i loved them that much, they keep all the material things which i did not mind im not a material person, i abandoned all hope why because ive seen so much hate ,fighting, anger in my family and everyone eles in the world after i became an alcoholic and at the late age of fifty after my dad passed away and 9 /11 i abandoned all hope but now i have been clean and sober for 3 1 / 2 years i did get through all my emotions and every thing else only thought the help of my higher power called god that planted a seed of hope and uderstanding in my soul and heart i gained hope and understanding , to get over the things of the past.
i do have a blog 360 yahoo mostly positive thing to read to reafirm that im here to do what im doing now like answering your question i sorry it is so long

It's a lost cause alright, but I am not ready yet to abandon hope. Maybe tomorrow I will be.

Until yesterday the answer would have been no. But, after the scan I had I knew that it was hopeless to continue with chemo, so now I am going to have to get used to th fact that in 8 - 10 weeks I will be going to the great wigwam in the sky!

I can't tell you if I ever did because i simply dont' remember. I can tell you what I do though - if I think something is hopeless, then sure yes. It's a more pragmatic way but why waiste your hopes on something that is 99.9% a fail? A change of hearts sounds a better deal to me...

In all of my 69 years, I've never encountered a lost cause. I've also never given up hope, especially where my children are concerned. I never realized that-thanks for the question.

I have several times. But it depends on what you hope for. Can what you hope for give happiness, and does its absence intrinsically mean unhappiness?
Sometimes it is easier just to let go, open up and let life come up with whatever is out there.
Old hopes die away, but new ones come along.
I hope that helps.

no becuase I always pray to God about what i want
and I always seem to get it the next day or pretty damn close
and in return I do alot of good for people
but If i am close to abandoning it then I sit right their ans pray or talk to a close relative or friend
