It is just like lighting the black stone with a flashlight. You will notice that there is a mild change of color on the stone.

Color isn't really an intrinsic property, it's just the wavelenghs of light that bounce off; Everything is black if there is no light. If you could some how see what colors are absorbed, instead of reflected, the colors would invert, and black would become white. However, absorbing a color (specific wavelength) doesn't make the object emit that wavelength; it just means the molecules of the object are in a shape takes in the light energy at that wavelength and turns it into some other type of energy. When the energy is converted from light, it isn't meaningful to talk about it as a color. When a color is absorbed, it goes away.

Nope... Green absorbs all colors but green, and green reflects to your eye. The sky is blue because the water in the air reflects blue light down to you. Since white light is full spectrum, White would reflect all colors or the full spectrum of white light. Black would absorb all colors thus not reflecting any thing thus the void and dark coloring.

We see black when all the color waves are absorbed by the object, i.e. there are no reflected color into our eyes. And the contrary happens for white. We see an object white when that thing reflects all the colors into our eyes

when you see an obeject color light has to hit it first then all the colors of the rainbow is absorbed by the object then all the colors that are involoved in the object gets reflected to out eyes. it goes throught the cornea, iris, pupil, lens, muscle, rodes, cones and blind spot
