Basic scientific research often provides surprisingly important results. As with most topics, there is a positive and negative aspect to be considered. One could foresee that such research may lead to breakthroughs in medical care and greater understanding of many species. On the darker side one should be wary of the possibilities of creating a negative outcome such as a subhuman race or mutation. Fire heats our home and cooks our meals. A fire killed 9 brave fire fighters this week. No one suggest would stop cooking. Perhaps having more fire sprinklers is a good idea.

I am brain dead today, so I am assuming that Human Animal Hybrid Genetic Manipulation is crossing DNA of human and animal to breed a specific type human with special traits and vise versa?
If that is the case, I am against it. I love Greek Mythology and the Centaur (half man, half horse) besides Pegasus were among my favorite creatures. However, I think if you try to create such creatures (what else would you call them) then you are trying to play god and it goes against my religious beliefs.

It depends on how you ask the question and the intent.
For example - if you're asking me if I want to see cows walking around with human heads - No.
But I'd love to see human insulin or growth hormone readily produced in a cow's milk (through genetic manipulation) if it helps improve human quality of life.
I'd love to see genetically modified pigs that could provide a kidney to your ailing parents if they ever suffer kidney failure and need a transplant.
We must embrace science and genetics. It is the 'comfort' of ignorance that forces us to look at all genetic science as being 'bad' or malicious. The truth is, people just don't like to learn science - which is the reason America is in downfall.
Keep studying science....

I've heard of Pandora's box, and I've seen what a political party could do with sanctioned experiments for the betterment of "us".
Dr. Josef Mengele, an upstanding member of the "National Socialist German Workers Party" (NSDAP) would be in total agreement with the hybrids of "animal & human genetics".
The very idea scares the hell out of me.

Absolutely not we don't show enough respect to animals as it is.I'm not a peta loving vegetarian either.I think animals raised for the food supply should have the best life and room to move we can provide them.Their life provides our food and in turn our life.I have raised many potbelly pigs and they are awesum animals that are intelligent and show an amazing amount of emotion they love to be loved and show it in return.Using animals as our personel body part supply and tinkering with their dna is desrespectfull to them and us.I would much rather die than have a pour animal who was raised in a lab enviroments heart valve put in me.Think about it using animals for research isn't humane or moral.

considering i'm veggie, specifically for animal welfare reasons, i think of that's incorrect to apply different species in that way for our very own earnings. I additionally think of it could be yet another occasion of analyze ideal to the treatment of situations that the two resulted from interplay with an irrelevant ecosystem or could be greater advantageous prevented. There could be some exceptions, yet those must be dealt with via stem-cellular analyze etc quite than human-nonhuman hybrids.

Officially...no one.
But undoubtedly there are numerous private and governmental facilities examining such research even now. They certainly have no trouble make a pig glow by splicing glowing jellyfish genes with pig genes (not joking, they did do that).

I think most people would automatically respond, with a feeling of revulsion.
I feel sure, that when the processes were properly explained,
most people would be in favour.
It's unfortunate that explaining the situation properly, isn't lurid enough for the press, hence the somewhat twisted version, that a lot of people think is real.

that's interesting... yes and no...
yes because it would be interesting to see what comes of it and what things we could do with the hybreds
no because i don't really believe in messing with something that works, it would be really horrible to make some kind of whacky genetic hybred that can do some crazy things to the world and to society
i guess i don't really know what my final answer is, i would have to have a lot more information about it, but it's an interesting idea
